Lotus
written by: Fiza Amir
A mind once a galaxy of thoughts, now merely mist,
Hiding from the sun, she sits — beneath the table, fist clenched.
While crimson butterflies on her cheeks are in tryst,
She holds her knees tight, arms firm.
When the sun sets, she dances on cracking heels,
The fainting moon lends her its spotlight,
Clouds gather softly — just to watch her shine.
Like a lotus, she blossoms in the pond, divinely.
