Melody

written by: Jay Mora-Shihadeh

The lines that age you
make me love you more.

I kiss your forehead and sigh/ taking in your lovely scent
my heart grasps at your beauty/ I pray in awe—

only my heart knows the depths
this love treks
as it tracks the path— home to you.

Our years together
wed us
in this tangled embrace—

I don’t want to lose
this love

we harnessed together/ the years.

Long ago it was written/ in endless begging
for you/ to light my life
from darkness
trace a path/ light a forge—

you came, in answer to my call
it was an amazing grace
a sight to behold.

My love for you—I’ll never let go.
