Menagerie

rosary beads
wrapped around
her lighthouse lamp
***
milk bottle
full of moonstones
…dreams driftwood
***
mason jar
half full of fireflies
…pickled secrets
***
half carafe
chock full of cockle shells
…broken promises
***
water jug
full of unmatched buttons
…eye of the needle
***
chipped cruets
thoughts and prayers blend
the blush wine belief
***
bell jar
full of the stillborn’s ashes
…not her fault
Ron Scully is a very retired bookseller. After half a lifetime on the road, an authentic Willy Loman only funnier, Ron has settled into the Pacific Northwest to read and write. He practices haikai daily and has published widely in short form journals. To date he has published seven chapbooks, the latest of which is the Cost of Living published by Yavanika Press. He is currently working on a play. Otherwise his grandchildren keep the old neurons firing.
