Missing

some days i wake
and i can’t find her,
she doesn’t answer
when i call,
she vanishes for
a little while,
and in the meantime
i’m left to draw
smiles on my face
and pull laughter
from my lungs,
and hope soon
she crawls back
inside me
before anyone
notices she was gone
