MOONBEAMS & FIREFLIES

MOONBEAMS & FIREFLIES

written by: TM DiSarro

I’ve never caught a moonbeam in a jar
Never grabbed a firefly by the wing
Never thought I’d ever hear you crying in your sleep
Lonely as the nightingale sings
I’ve never cut somebody in a line
Or tried to push my way up to the top
I can’t begin to tell you when this love affair will end
Or how to make the pain you’re feeling stop
I only know what speaks to me of love
The simple truth that makes a person whole
The elements that help me as I try to fill this void
That binds me to the spirit of your soul.
