My Bitter Sweet Essence

written by: Allan Kayiira

Give me love,
sour upon the tongue of mind, pleasing to my gut and eye,

Give me love of everlasting piety,
need i lay not my thoughts bitter upon a pillow wet with tears of regret,

Give me times sited with green gardens of fair blossoms close-bosomed upon blessed grounds,
wherein happier times thy huntsman’s horn
Echoes from far, such museful sweet midsummer songs,

Give me love,

And shall i rise to morrows mirrored in reflections of believers' bliss,
my lair filled with whispers of wishes antique.

So shall i fall upon dusks dazzled with diamond dust.

Give me love,
for love only is my bitter-sweet essence.

I am Alan kayira, an East African from Uganda.

I am besides poet a finance graduate and insurer.

Poetry is my muse and has always been my hindsight intrigue for writing. I love words for they are foundation of every sentient beings basis of communication. Always have been, be it prose or poetry.

Am also mused by how timeless life blossoms be here on earth or far in the cosmic. I think our lives are but journeys, and what better way to write the stories thereof.
