Oblivion, a poem by Keith Garrett at Spillwords.com

Oblivion

Oblivion

written by: Keith Garrett

Snort and howl the ugly and unhappy
Huffing for the warmth of grace
Eyes lost in knots of dream and novelty
but for moments of strength and clarity
where, for a moment, everything is in tune,
gaps are crossable with a single stride,
veins pour out heaven
and choir shouts from every atom until:
not abrupt silence, no but soft fading
circling down the tips of pillows
draining into the night forgotten
