Just “One Word” Away (“Diamonds”)

One word becomes one idea, becomes one sentence, becomes one poem, becomes one story. It must start from just “one word”. Today my one word is “Diamonds”.

DIAMONDS

People are like diamonds; eventually all cut to perfection. Some shine brilliantly, others glow softly. We come in various shapes, sizes and colors – all worth our weight in precious gems and gold. We are so individually intricate and unique in every way. Some of us are nearly perfect, some mediocre, while others still a work in progress. It is true we may be measured by our beauty, yet we are each adored greatly as one of the many jewels in the world’s multifaceted population. Once we take our rightful place in society, we then strive to become that perfectly-graded Diamond.

DIAMONDS

Cut, clarity, color and carat
Multifaceted
Light of the Gods
Naturally Brilliant
Reflective of excellence
Sparkling glory
Blue or icy white
Matchless rarity
Worth its weight in treasure
A rare Gem of nature
Or a Diamond in the rough
Like the peoples of the world
Each cut to its worth
Poor, Middle or Rich Class
– Simply measured by quantity
– Greatly cherished by quality

NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:

People are like “Diamonds”…always struggling to be that one perfect Gem; measured by quantity and cherished by quality.
