Our Christmas

Our Christmas

written by: Karoline Lesande

Time to pause and find some peace,
safe inside from the snowy breeze.
We’ve put up the tree with lights so bright,
knock back hot chocolate, crash out for the night.
On Christmas Day we’re taking it slow,
presents unwrapped then we play in the snow.
We build a big snowman and give him some props,
fresh air makes us hungry, our stomachs in knots.
Later we reminisce near the fireplace,
enjoying cognac and s’mores, barely staying awake.
Christmastime is when memories are made,
some are forgotten but the spirit won’t fade.
