Our Living Legacy

I dip my quill into the well,
one brushstroke at a time.
Each stroke is a masterpiece of its own.
Often staccato, by choice.
Others legato, connecting fluid
notes. I sing my sweet tune.
I get lost finding my way back to
clarity through pause.
Words strung, like notes, open my
heart to love the range of the
quivering blend of the highs and
lows of my own heartbeat,
where I am merely the messenger
to the conductor, pulling strings.
Each word, a composition into itself
where my soul dwells.
Worry not if you miss a beat,
veering off the page.
Worry more about never
breaking free, like a marionette in trance.
Explore the terrain on your journey
honoring your own rhythm.
Each line represents lifetimes of
stories written and rewritten in ink.
There is only one you in the world
and your story is your watermark.
