Peregrinate

Peregrinate

written by: Ciara

Majority wonders what’s next
To find what’s new, what’s best,
Every day is the latest narration
An opportunity to explore
This capacious world we call our home

Though some seek wonder
Others pursue to perceive
A missing piece they’ve felt absent—felt but not seen,
Driven crazy or out of their mind
They peregrinate for as long as they believe,

Scouring the globe far and wide
For that click, that dawn, that register,
A cessation of their turmoil
To intellectualize that need
That compels them to follow the tugging lead

While some recede before the encounter
Others spend a lifetime searching for that deficiency
Getting pulled faithfully through every impasse
To find their other, never waning even as
Time proceeds aimlessly—having withdrawn eons ago
