Rain

Rain

written by: Janina Osewska

translated by: Karol Chojnowski and Desmond Graham

in one raindrop
every desire met
and it seemed that that surfeit
would become the purest quartz
an echo of a single thought
sent from the touch of one word to another

I gently brush
the heavy transparency from your sleeve
set free the longings imprisoned there
winged with apparent freedom
they perch on the bits and pieces of the world
and smell of rain and of us

Deszcz

written by: Janina Osewska

w jednej kropli
skupiły się wszystkie pragnienia
i zdawało się że ten nadmiar
stanie się górskim kryształem
biegnącym od dotyku do dotyku słowa
echem jednej myśli

brzemienną przeźroczystość
delikatnie strącam z twojego rękawa
uwalniam zamknięte w niej tęsknoty
które uskrzydlone pozorną wolnością
przysiadają na okruchach świata
i pachną deszczem i nami
