Untether the umbilical which bound you to the womb,
Unleash the infant learning from mistakes.
Unfurl the carefree flags of youth,
Unbind the books, unwrap intriguing odysseys of learning.
Unroll the list of joyful and joyless jobs,
Undress the lovers in their passion,
Unveil the bride, unmask the groom.

Uncoil from your neck the clinging child.
Unhitch the life of pecuniary concerns and unchain obligations.
Unravel the journey, paths and stumbles,
Unpack life’s vicissitudes and put them aside.
Unhinge the door of memories and
Unburden thoughts – said and unsaid,
Unarm the enemies – regret and sorrow.

Untwist your gnarled and ageing limbs
Unstretch the sinews primed for action
Untense the knotted muscles.
Unsheathe the wit which kept you safe.
Unclasp the caring hand and unfetter belonging.
Unwind in the public lounge of life.
Relax taut springs, as time yields to the winding sheet of eternity.
