SACRED SWAN

SACRED SWAN

Head bowed, flowing across the water
Like an organic sepulchre-
Lost in writhing reeds
It raises its head once more,
Glancing mutely around
It sighs, its breath dying in the snow.
A symbol of light,
The swan is transfigured.
