Secret Love

The Moon howls
and She grasps
voices of Stars
and her Sons.

In her hand
they are tried lights
and said puppies
of Comet,
and the Silence,
her favourite boy,
explains his unusual love.

He shouts.

He cries this blind emotion
for his lady,
Girl of the Woods,
Daughter of the Wolf’s anorexic Flowers.

She is as a perfume,
She is like the snow
and her white scent.

She hasn’t got a name,
She is mute and deaf,
She sings – not her voice, but her white eyes –
with the birds of the fire.

She runs with the pinched echoes of the forest,
She smiles with the bone eagles of the sea,
She sleeps with the iron bears of the rivers
and She dreams with the children of the Earth.

She is the wife that won’t accept the marriage,
She hides with the water and the rain…

And, in her furtive gaze of her words,
She will love Him forever,
her man of hushed things,

her sweet man who doesn’t know her secret,
the Silence.
