Silver Lining

Silver Lining

No matter the form of disability,
If that is the hand you’ve been dealt,
The cards will bear your fair share of complexity
Whether it be struggles with movement, sensory or mentality
imagine how inconvenient and funny it would be
if you needed to tell somebody whenever you have to pee
or wear an adult diaper and hope it doesn’t leak
Fortunately, a sparkling silver lining is beautifully intertwined
By following the intricate line
The disability can help refine
It will slowly get easier to find people who like the way we roll
Hold the door open, but not just for show
If you’re truly a friend, then you should know
I’m not an idiot, and you’re not a hero
