Spectres Amongst Us
written by: Mike Turner

Ghosts of past unpunished crimes
Stalk our waking nightmares
Specters here amongst us
Spirits of lost innocence
And virtues long surrendered
To transitory pleasures
Vacant eyes stare watching us
As once again we turn
To our lusts, greed and ambitions
Vices that dwell deep in us
Devouring our souls
Rotting from within
Then, for moment sated
We’re left a hollowed husk
Which the apparitions rise to fill
Anew
