You walked into my life on that night
My soul offered you a place without a fight
My spirit gave in without a fright
And my mind deemed it right
This body of mine felt it was alright
The universe seemingly turned bright
That was at your very first sight
Under the dark skies of pale moonlight
You shone like a phenomenal twilight
And my soul squealed in delight
In disguise you did hold me so tight
Your blinding spell plunged me into plight
Isaiah Phiri aka JahArt Kushite is an inspirational poet from Cape Town, South Africa who writes soul deep poetry that depicts everyday tumultuous life. He writes about the burdens and joys of this life that we tend to bury 'neath our skin. He is a self-published author of a collection of poetry book titled Wailing Soul, available on Amazon. He also published some of his artwork with ILA magazine (US) and co-authored a number of books and anthologies with SweetyCat Press (US), under the late Sir Steve Carr. He also co-authored an anthology titled Colours Of Love by Rock Pidgeon Publications (India).
