  1. Where, do you hail from?

I am from the Dandenong Ranges in the State of Victoria in Australia.

  1. What is the greatest thing about the place you call home?

It is the natural beauty of this mountainous region and the hills life that I am in awe of and blessed to be a part of every day. The surrounding hill top views along with the flora and fauna within the local forest are a sight to behold. Australia’s birdlife is exquisite and the lyrebird, which is prevalent in these parts, is my favourite species.

  1. What turns you on creatively?

Without a doubt, I draw inspiration from nature. I absorb the creative life that exists within the hills community where I live. Music and lyrics are definitely a love of mine and immersing myself in the outdoor spaces where I can draw upon to write, is a creative dream.

  1. What is your favorite word, and can you use it in a poetic sentence?

I am rather fond of the word ‘gladness’.

The Christmas lilies dance with gladness and play to the tune of their own trumpets.

  1. What is your pet peeve?

The lack of good manners… there is absolutely no excuse where kind words and noble gestures towards others is concerned. They are free and should be used more often as a form of respect and good will.

  1. What defines Fotoula Reynolds?

Laughter is my medicine. I have always found it healing and I try my best to see the funny side (where possible) of a bad situation. I am a deep thinker and I find solace in meditation. Writing daily is what I do and it is the most liberating experience in my life – I can be as emotional and spontaneous as I like.
