Standing on a Windowsill
written by: Sheeza Khan
When the skies are clear
life on the surface feels calm, a little too silent
But then I hear, thunder rolling, the grey clouds creeping in
Panic ensues, people shout
close the windows, take the clothes in
Worrying that the rain might seep
And here I am, standing on the windowsill,
Smiling at the sight
Wind blows, it takes not only the dirt piled up on Earth,
But my worries with it.
The clouds move, destroying the stillness of life
The clear days, the silent times vanish with its return
A storm brews, and it gives others panic
It gives me renewal of life
Rain falls, world grows dark,
and for a moment, it makes everything like chaos
Then comes the best part, blue sky returns with its cool breeze
The life now feels serene, with washed greenery and beautiful clarity
The rain comes as chaos, yet it leaves me with
a sense of something good, telling me to restart
Before the dust settles again, it gives me time to give my all
Until the storm comes back, to take away the calm again
