Still Counting

After the recommended brief hiatus, he left the house at precisely the same time as always.
Excited to resume his scheduled daily wog, a walk with sprinkles of jog, he started counting his blessings, instead of the steps and sprinkles.
Last month’s fortuitous ER visit opened the aperture on his mislabeled routines. He couldn’t walk fast enough to get home for dinner. It was his turn to cook.
He was thinking meatloaf du jour. Always one of her favorites.
John Sutherby is a former manager of global marketing communications activities, currently focused on writing a “What if” novel. Am occasionally forced to digress when something strikes me, begging me to capture it in a flash-fiction format. The goal of my writings is to make each piece worth engaging and worthy of being gauged, and along the way, to get somebody to smile and laugh. If that doesn’t happen, why bother.
