Tell-Tale Smell

written by: Kenneth Vincent Walker

I can smell your fear
Which you mask with
Anger as your narrow
World is spiraling out
Of your manic control.

Do you even hear the
Hatred you're spewing
As you dangle carrots
Of prejudice and bigotry
Before the public's nose?

I can smell your fear
Which you conceal so
Desperately for your
Strength and your power
Are how you're best known.

As the world stigmatizes
The jaded you've converted,
And as you strangle morality
With a fallacy perverted to
Concoct an alternate reality

Devoid of decency and soul.
