The Day I Died

The Day I Died

written by: Kartik Bhatt

The day I died
was the day I was born.
The day I died
was when I caused a dispute between my parents over a cup of chai.
The day I died
was when I fought with every friend of mine.
The day I died
was when I became all alone.
And if I am really dead,
Why do I crave attention?
Why do I crave love?
Why do I crave happiness?
Why can’t I just stay dead,
dead of all the feelings,
dead of always expecting.
Why can’t I stop feeling?
