The Half-Moon

The Half-Moon

written by: Hudera Tariq

In the middle of the vast black night,
I saw a glimpse of a half-moon, all alone,
Shining and devouring the sky on his own.
Smoky clouds revolve around him like admirers.
As I walk on, I feel his warmth surrounding my presence.
His charm is irresistible;
A touch of redness appears on my cheeks,
And I burst into a smile.
I always knew we had a deep connection.
As I reach my favorite place,
Slow waves touch my feet,
And my hair begins to blow with the rhythm of the atmosphere.
Then I look up at him in the sky.
He welcomes me with his elegant presence,
As he always does.
I start to tell him about my day,
And he listens like an absolute yearner.
The distance between us disappears as he blesses me with his glorious peace.
Silently captivated, just because I exist.
I get lost in his charismatic vibe,
While his gaze stays locked on mine.
And now comes the hardest part of this beautiful meeting:
Goodbyes.
Leaving him behind me,
With those clouds and stars trying to capture his attention.
“We’ll meet again tomorrow,” I whisper.
“I love you.”
My lips curve into a smile,
More accurately, I blush,
And then I walk away,
To return tomorrow.
