The High Empress

Catching end notes of Blackbird’s song
she allows a final flutter of her eyelashes to vanish.
Twirling in a snow-globe, flitting through a crystal ball,
flirting with psychic powers…a phantom of ghost stories.
A subtle touch on your cheek,
an enchanting fragrance inhaled before sleep…
She awaits, to take you
to places never seen or heard…
and at the end of the journey a kiss on your arid lips.

The lady still roams soft notes of Cypress,
dress of damson, auburn tresses, green eyes,
purple gloves conceal poor grip. Wolves howl.
Bones chatter beneath her slab,
Ice clings to her headstone,
snowflakes dance around her name
as icicles play tunes on her pearly stone.

A secret soul, body free…
Whispers with stinging mint air,
cradling rhythms of parma-violet,
reaps twines of golden webs.
No trace of footprints
in an eternal Winter struggling to fade.
Sleeping in the shade of an Owl’s wing
as shuddering leaves make talk about her innocence.

Speaking without words
her smile crumbles the ivory upon her cheeks,
Moons quiver at the image of her loveliness.
Her rampant shadow, often absent in outer worlds,
returns spellbound,
telling tales of magical happenings.

The Empress gazes into a mirror-pond
views her visage…
Reflected smile has lips of flare,
as swelling seeds hush with respect
and time crochets a new jigsaw for the morrow.
