The Mind is Small

The Mind is Small

written by: Leigh Cuthbert

The mind is small—
the control board
for all that manifests.

Power to imagine,
power to learn,
power to destroy.

Self-destruction.
A loafing,
anxiety addict
with no recovery.

Like the tide,
it comes in waves—
stronger,
bigger,
with more intent,
eroding the beauty.

Adrift in my thoughts,
searching for solid ground—
a wanting
to be grounded,
safe,
happy.

One day,
maybe.
