The Temple Within

The Temple Within

written by: Vidya Venkataramanan

The temple stands
On the shores
Of faith and belief,
The rippling waters
Lap against the jagged steps
Leading up to it.
The journey Home
Is almost done.

Some came by boat,
Some swam
Through the moat,
Some were dragged by the current,
For some it was the main event!
Each chose a different path,
But all ended up
At the door
Of the temple
Of light!

Many paths
Lead to the One,
But you can only go it alone!
Each has to discover
His own core,
None can do it
For the other!

Trusting the Teacher,
You take the plunge,
He will expunge
With Grace,
Till you finish the race!

The cascading ripples
within you,
Draw you into the core,
To meet Yourself
In that beautiful Temple
Within!
