The Whale

The Whale

I have the eyes decomposed
Into dripping tears
By the Irish American tale
While waiting for a tail
On a ferry just out
Of the Boston bay

I was missing the ocean
My Atlantic lover
Disturbing eternal waves

Surely we met before
In another time
In another life
In another dream

But it is the present dream
This giant void
That I am going to fulfill

With a giant sea-beast
The seventh largest
Heart beating creature
That the unquestionable
Mystery of the lord
Has conceived

The sea giant and me
I wonder who will be more surprised
The similar kindness, wildness and madness
Of two very different creatures.
