Traveling Across the Universe Divide

Traveling Across the Universe Divide

written by: Keith W. Norris

If I could live forever
I would saunter across the galaxies
I would take my time
And visit every planet
Orbiting every star.
I would whisper my poems
Into every nebula
And ponder where they will come out
On the other side.
I would hold a poetry reading
At every stop
And probably start a rebellion
And galvanize the masses
In their hatred of poetry.

Since I am not going to live forever
And I can’t travel the galaxies
I will turn off every light
On every dark night
And shout my poems to the heavens
In hopes that someone will remember.
