Twisted And Churning

Twisted and Churning

written by: Ashleigh-Dawn Watson

Seems like
nothing
ever happened,
and the ribbons
are
twisting
in the wind.
If there was
ever a
time that
could have
mattered,
it feels irrevocably lost
to the
abyss.
And my eyes
can’t rest upon
this
book
as if the ground below
had
never shook.
It’s so much
torture, you won’t
believe me.
You only
leave me
twisted
in the wind.

Feels like
everything
ignites with fire,
and the edges
are
burning
deep in flames.
How can it be
that
there’s so much illusion
in this fodder.
Between the
turning of
each page.
And my eyes
can’t rest upon the
incredible
heat
upon a horizon
we were not
meant to scale nor
defeat.
It’s so much torture,
you won’t
believe me.
You only
leave me
burnt by
your brilliant
churning flame.
