Vademecum of the Warlord

Vademecum of the Warlord

written by: Maciej Pająk (Matthew)

When you conquer an unknown land,
you need the hearts of local warlords.

Be swift — like a certain corporal.
Be ambitious — like one short in stature.
Be cunning — like a chess master.

Then treasuries will open before you,
stupefied by awe and fear.

Seat yourself on the throne — as tyrant.
Seize!

Do the same with your lover’s heart.
Let her adore you,
like her dressing mirror.

And when you’ve had your fill,
march on,
warlord — the conqueror!
