Where Nothing is Forgotten
written by: Duane L Herrmann
Trees remember
as they are alive
their roots join
other neighbor roots
and hold hands.
Roots silent say,
we’re here,
with you,
beside you,
part of you,
and are reassured
by each other.
When a tree dies
the others mourn –
their loss is felt
as one hand
slowly slips
away.
