Comfortable in The Shade

Comfortable in The Shade

written by: Kenneth Vincent Walker

The more this world
Seems under a spell,
The more it frantically

Spirals out of control,
The more I wanted to
Climb right back to my

Shell, yet I felt deeply
Down in my soul you
Can never effectively
Change the world from
A hole in the ground.

Now I tend to speak my
Mind fostering such deep
Creases in my face amid

The daylight blinded by
The light as I am more
Comfortable in the shade;

But the shadow won’t last
Forever. Sooner or later
A bleeding heart speaks
Out against the wall of
Injustice seen all around

In need of toppling down.
