To A Dictator

To A Dictator

written by: Glo Curl

Shall I compare thee to a trebuchet?
Thou art more deadly and more evil too
Rough timber splits and splinters down the way
And summer storms disrupt the endless spew

Sometime too clumsy is your war machine
And often strikes the innocents who sleep
And every day fear and despair are seen
By chancing medics, aiding those who weep

Beast, thy eternal madness shall not fade
Nor lose obsession with thy neighbour’s lands
Nor shall thy airy conscience e’er be swayed
When in eternal hatefulness it stands

So long as men will fight and tyrants breathe
So long lives war, and all of us must grieve
