I Wanted My Scream Back

I Wanted My Scream Back

written by: Roni Blooms

I wanted my scream back.
I ached for the momentum.
Instead, only a whisper.

As crowds gathered
and good times were had,
I sat perpendicular to a shadow
that stared into my soul.
And I stared back as
this soulless creature
visually broke me in four:
my mind,
my body,
my voice,
my soul.

I sat paralyzed.
With no sound.

I wanted my scream back.
