Lonely in the Crowd…!!

The gloaming seethe around her
and entwine her in its thrall ;
whorl of inkling, sombre
memoirs’ of her solitude.
The reticence reverberate in her ears,
a perpetual white sound that never heaved.
Her absorbed mind waded
in the embers’ flaming inside.
The scorching cinders of time made its
inhabitance with her, around her, in her.
The void was being gradually filled, and
refusing to abate, bellowing storm of fear.
Now, She was completely alone
in her body, soul and mind;
and most of all,
lonely even in ubiquitary crowd.

Born in the breathtakingly beautiful vale of Kashmir, Monika Ajay Kaul has had her schooling done there. A Post-Graduate in Business Management from New Delhi, an Academician by profession. She is passionate about writing poetry and short stories. An avid reader, mostly biographies and autobiographies of World Artists and Writers. Currently a full-time toiling mother.
