A Party in The Empty

A Party in The Empty

written by: Emmanuel Papa Quansah

@_Sagalin

Moonlight, empty street,
a hungry wretched rat
tiptoes across,
swings into a giant choked gutter
to find scraps to feed.
First, crushes a shiny tiny bullet,
Dismayed!
Turns left,
meet a banquet of chipped skulls,
Relieved!
Turns right,
served a feast of chopped limbs,
Thrilled!
A party in the empty street.

NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:

The idea of this poem is to communicate the effect of wars. It advises that other means should be adopted to settle disputes instead of arms or wars.
