Arun Jindal secured a B.Tech (Hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1966 from The Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He has authored two books. His first book "From Nainital to Noida" is a memoir that seamlessly interweaves his personal story, his professional career of over fifty years in the Indian private sector, and the rapid changes that he witnessed in Indian society during his lifetime. His second book "Priyamvada" chronicles the long and eventful life of an enigmatic, vivacious, decisive and intelligent woman and her gradual transformation to a helpless person with senile dementia.
