I completed a career in manuscript editing and writing for clients including McGraw-Hill, Elsevier, Wiley-Blackwell, the American Medical Association, Salem Press, and the American Board of Pathology. I have an RN degree and a bachelor’s degree in English literature and have had several courses in creative writing. I participated in two writers' conferences at Kennesaw State University in Georgia and two Florida Suncoast Writers’ Conferences here in Tampa. My publications include: “The Masterpiece,” a short poem published in Share magazine, “The Watering Hole,” a short story that won the Florida Suncoast Writers’ Conference Fiction Award and the Thomas E. Sanders Award, published in White Mule, “Eddie’s Tavern,” a short story published in The Lowell Pearl, “Among the Ranks,” a profile of a Florida Orchestra musician, published in Event magazine, Salem Encyclopedia of Health and Medicine: Cancer, 4 essays, Genetics & Inherited Disorders, Salem Press, essay on Graves’ disease.
