My parents left England in the late 1960s to give their daughters a childhood with space and sunshine. We got that, and more! I'm retired now, trying to live my life to the full from my home in Cape Town. I was a medical social worker for most of my adult life and came to poetry and creative writing in my fifties as a means of coping with burnout. I'd written poems as a nerdy teenager, so I've enjoyed my return to this form of creativity. I've had a few poems published online and in South African anthologies.
