A Pushcart Prize-nominated haikai poet and mentor, Kala Ramesh is the Founder and Director of Triveni Haikai India, Founder and Managing Editor of haikuKATHA Journal. Her book of haiku and haibun Beyond the Horizon Beyond was shortlisted for the Tagore Literary Prize in 2019. Her third book – the forest I know – published by HarperCollins, was launched at the prestigious Jaipur Literature Festival in March 2022. She received the WE Trailblazer Poet Teacher Award 2020, from Women Empowered India. Kala is the haiku editor at Under the Basho since its inception in 2013.
