Mary Heeran White is a writer based in County Clare, Ireland, where she lives with her husband, two daughters, and their cherished dog, Cassie. Originally from Leitrim, she spent three decades in banking and entrepreneurship before rekindling her passion for writing. Drawing from her professional and personal experiences, Mary crafts narratives that explore the diverse fabric of Irish society, often blending themes of identity, belonging, and resilience. She holds an MA in Creative Writing, and her poetry has been widely recognised. Her work won first place at the Knocklyon Literary Festival (2024) and was long-listed for the Leonard Cohen Poetry Competition (2025). She is a regular contributor to Irelands Own short stories. Her short stories are also in REWIND an Amazon best seller Anthology of short sories, poetry and memoir. Mary was selected for Date with an Agent for her forthcoming Novel at Ireland’s International Literature Festival 2025. When not writing Mary can be found walking with Cassie pondering the next plot for her stories.
