I am Nandika Narang, a sophomore in high school. I write short stories, essays, and poems in my free time. I've always been a writer from a young age so being creative has been natural for me. It's my way of self-expression and making sense of the world around me. In the past two years, I focused on poetry as poems are a way to capture ideas in a short amount of space and are open to the reader's interpretation. My first poem published is my Tree poem which I wrote for my Bio class to spread awareness on the environment. Ever since then, I also published a poem, Distant Memories in my school's magazine. Writing is where I can create worlds of my own imagination, see the world in a clearer lens, and I feel free in being myself. It makes me think of things in a bigger way and helps me be vulnerable in ways that I am not otherwise. I like to be expressive of my feelings in my writing so that it’s intimate and real. When I let my feelings out, it gives me clarity on them and allows me to connect more with myself. I want to capture that feeling through associations and descriptions to truly embrace it.
