Breezing Winter

Breezing Winter

written by: Parvathi Jayakrishnan

“The routes to discover,
The sky to uncover,
The self to recover”

My body underneath the blanket of a snowstorm,
calming the burn of a lost soul,
dusted along the pages of fallen books,
I admire the purity of snow
shining and showering
the ghostly roads of awaited streams,
freezing the day’s light
breathing in a celestial steamy night

I unwrap my woollen cocoon
dressing in a pearly gown to tune
dancing over an icy lagoon

I feel alive with a dreamy flight,
yet lost with time, day and night,
in the wonderworld of books,
taking my space,
discovering a unique world of tastes,
I venture out into my world, untraced

A beauty of self, I retrace,

I wrap my hands around my knees,
joyfully bringing in grace,
My book, “Breezing Winter,” whispering,

“The routes to discover,
The sky to uncover,
The self to recover”

I hear an echo of jingle bells to chase,
shimmering Christmas light in place,

I embrace a piece of rum cake,
cherishing the first snow of the season,
delighting my soul’s plate
