Checkmate

Checkmate

written by: Sonakshi Sharma

The king stands tall, but steps are few,
A silent knight knows what to do.
The queen once fierce, now trapped in fate,
One final move—too late, too late.

A pawn once weak, now bold and free,
Becomes the piece that traps the key.
The board is set, the game is played,
A whispered word—”Checkmate”—is made.

NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:

‘Checkmates’ is inspired by the strategic battles of chess and how they mirror life’s challenges. Every move counts, and sometimes, sacrifices lead to victory.
