Echoes of Distance

Echoes of Distance

written by: Christina Stewart

In the quiet shadows of my heart,
I forge a love that burns so bright,
Yet when the moment calls to part,
I vanish like a fading light.

I weave a bond with tender thread,
A touch that warms the coldest night,
But when the silence fills the void,
I drift away from love’s own sight.

To cherish deeply, to hold tight,
And then, to let the distance grow,
This dance of closeness, then retreat,
Is how my heart’s true nature shows.

Love me with all your heart, it seems,
But know that I may fade away,
For in the realms of fleeting dreams,
I hold the power to decay.

Yet in this paradox, I dwell,
Embracing both the fire and the chill,
A love that soars, then bids farewell,
A heart that’s both tender and still.
