I Hold the Key

I Hold the Key

written by: Yll Brahimi

Small room,
no windows.
The door is shut tight.
No sun, no moon,
only endless night.

I can’t do
what I used to like.
I can’t walk, run, or write,
yet I still choose to fight.

Maybe if I close my eyes,
I’ll make it through the night.

I’m holding on to my dreams,
but I feel like a parasite.
I need to be outside,
something doesn’t feel right.

Little did I know,
the door was locked
from the inside.
