Mood

Mood

written by: Glo Curl

Of all the things to lift my mood
besides some sweet and sticky food
and birds that flutter closely by
to watch me with a beady eye
distributing another lot
of suet in the usual spot
or snowdrops tucked beside an oak
in woodland shedding winter’s cloak—
the springtime warmth upon my face
and bumble bees’ determined race
in search of sweet and sticky food
are guaranteed to lift my mood
