November Dreary

November Dreary

written by: Savannah E

November 30th comes like a shadow,
quiet and certain.
Twenty-four days in light with you,
and then the world shifted
without warning.

I carry your absence
like a hand I cannot hold,
like a question
that will never be answered.

Sometimes I wonder
if the wind carries your laughter,
if the trees remember your small footprints,
if the world keeps a corner
just for you.

Grief is not loud;
it is a whisper in empty rooms,
a shadow in every photograph,
a memory that bends the heart
and stretches time.

And still, I breathe, I continue,
learning that love does not end
just because life does,
and that carrying you forward forever
is the only way to keep you near.
