Query Unabridged

Query Unabridged

written by: Jim Miller

Arising, same as down I was laid
Eyes wide shut
Intellectually alone
What was left ignored?
What sin left uncommitted?
Or for what did I not atone?
Days easily reduced
Into elongated numbers
My perception too serenely slumbers
Rose coloured glasses
Cause vacant eyes to see what is not there
Flight of fancy unseats me from terra firma
And feeds my lungs false air
Branchless be the life’s tree I climb
Lament though I do not
Merely living out of sync
For being born out of time
